The hvbusiness.org and hvfbla.com websites have been and continue to be designed and maintained by the students, staff and alumni of the School of Business and FBLA at Hidden Valley High. We think our school is a great place to learn and feel part of a community.
In addition, the School of Business tries to help students make connections with the local business community and learn through individual and coolaborative hands on projects. We bring the real world of career and employment to life with practical application, skill development, experimentation and experience. We are truly “training tommorow’s leaders through relevance, rigor and relationships!
History & Location
Due to overcrowding at Grants Pass High School in 1977, Hidden Valley High School was created, along with two other high schools in Josephine County. Hidden Valley High School is nestled in between mountains and pine trees, making it the center of a remote valley. Hidden Valley’s natural setting has its advantages, such as fewer distractions than those in larger cities, and a smaller student body. Hidden Valley High School is located eight miles south of Grants Pass in Murphy, Oregon. Students are provided transportation to school every day from up to twenty miles away. The student population averages 840.
Mascot & Color Rumors
For the past few years, the rumor of how Hidden Valley gained its mascot and colors has always been that they were decided upon by the 1977 playoff game between the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders. Well, as the story goes, the broncos were victorious so HV became the school of orange and blue.
The Truth is, according to Jan Figoni who was a teacher here when the school opened, the future students that would be attending Hidden Valley came together and voted to decide what the school’s colors and mascot would be. And there you have it, the Blue and Orange Mustangs were born!
